Cooler

4/15/2025

A cooler (cooling radiator with fan) is a device designed to cool electronic computer components, especially those that generate a lot of heat, such as processors, video cards, and power supplies. It usually consists of a heatsink and a fan.

Functions:

  • Cooling: The cooler draws heat away from heated components, preventing them from overheating and damage.
  • Airflow: The fan creates an airflow that helps dissipate heat from the heatsink.
  • Heat transfer: Thermal paste is often used to improve heat transfer between the component and the heatsink.

Types of coolers:

  • Air coolers: Use fans and heatsinks for cooling.
  • Water coolers: Use liquid cooling to dissipate heat more efficiently.

Applications:

  • Desktop computers: Use to cool processors, graphics cards and other components.
  • Laptops: Smaller but similar in operation.
  • Servers: Necessary to keep equipment in server rooms running smoothly.
